FAQs
GENERAL
How many accounts are needed?
- A minimum of 2. An OOC account is required to keep things organised, and one account per character. We require each character to have their own account for clarity and organisation, that way it reduced confusing regarding who is posting with which character.
Is there a limit to the number of characters I can have?
- No. We do not limit the number of characters any one person can play, however, we do require you to be aware of them all and keep them active. Know your limits and do not over-do it.
Do you have a minimum 'words per post'?
- We do, but it's set at a low 200 wpp. We understand that sometimes it can be a struggle to get a decent post done, but nobody likes single-liners, so we have the WPP set. If you're struggling to make up your words per post, try being more descriptive with your surroundings, weather and how your character is feeling and reacting to the situation it's in.
Can I play any other animals?
- At the moment only Canine and Feline species are allowed to be played, however as the plot develops there may be the introduction of other playable animals.
Can I play domestic cats and dogs?
- No. Domestication would suggest that there were Humans, or some other form to domesticate these animals, and we do not allow any relation to humans within the roleplay.
Who are 'Carnivora'?
- Carnivora is the collective term we use to refer to the families of Canines and Felines as to not say 'Canines & Felines'.
Do other animals have mutations?
- At this point in time no. Unless it has been roleplayed that the Avatars have gifted mutations upon them, then no. Later on we may allow it, but there is no need to have other animals with mutations.
CHARACTERS
Can my character have any appearance I want?
- Yes and no. We don't want to limit your imagination, but we don't want ridiculous looking canines and felines running around with mutations that don't work together, or with every and any mutation you can think of on them. We ask you to think carefully about the mutations you want your characters to have; want one who can breathe in water, then gills, maybe fins and scales. Want one that can fly; wings, light bones, feathers. Think, it's not hard.
Is there a limit to the mutations allowed?
- There is only so much one character should be able to do, even in a fantasy world, so in that sense, yes. We do not need flying, invisible, fire-breathing, mermaid-wolf-cats wandering around. It makes things unfair on other players and characters and would make the ability to control all of the mutations and abilities rather hard as some may counteract others.
We will not tell you which mutations you can and cannot have, but we hope that you are able to make a decent choice on their combination on a single character.
How do I get my mutations?
- The Avatars often bestow gifts upon those who they believe deserve it and sometimes when requested, however, there are designated area for both Avatars in which animals can pray and leave tributes in the hopes of gaining some power, skills and other means. This is the most common way in which animals gain their mutations as it's the quickest way to contact the Avatars. Some mutations are only available by being blessed by the HBs and having it bestowed upon them. See the mutations list for more information.
Once a character has mutations, can they then be passed on to offspring?
- Yes, once the mutations and skills or other 'gifts' have been bestowed upon a character it is theirs unless taken away. Which means when producing offspring there are chances of the children carrying the same mutations as their parents.
How do we know where our characters come from?
- Your character's backstory can show that your family unit held claim to a single named 'territory' upon the map. This would be their home base and their own territory, thus making this area claimed. If, however, a Guild is formed and they wish to occupy that space the family unit occupying it will have the choice of either joining the guild forming, leaving or fighting for the rights to the grounds.
AVATAR
Are there 'Gods'?
- There are not Gods per se, however, there are things known as 'Higher Beings' or Avatars. These are rumoured to be fallen stars that have taken the form of a Wolf and Tiger are treated and respected as Gods. Many stories regarding the origins of these two creatures circulate, but only they know the truth. Each Avatar offers different skills, mutations and powers do have the ability to change their appearance at any time to avoide recognition.
Do the Avatars have followers?
- They do, each of the Avatars have their own followers, known as Devotees. These animals, not specific to the Avatar, meaning felines can be devotees of the Canine Avatar and vice versa. Devotees follow around the Avatars and tend to their every need in the hopes of becoming something better than what they are, but it is not without sacrifice. They have no means of leaving the Avatars, or face death as a result, they cannot mate or have relations with others and they can be mated by the Avatars and potentially sire their children as a result. Devotees are sworn to secrecy in regards to identifying the Avatars or revealing anything about them Should they break this, they would then die at the hands of the Avatar.
How does one become a Devotee?
- Devotee openings are very rare, and as of yet we have not heard of any openings, or know for certain as to how one becomes a Devotee. It may be a selection process by the Avatar or a recruitment drive -either way, it is a big thing and specific events will be held regarding this matter.
GUILDS
Does my character have to join a Guild?
- No, we allow rogues as well as it adds another dimension to the roleplaying and actions. You may choose to start out as a rogue and join a guild later on or join a guild straight out. Do note that if there are too high a number of Rogues, there may be a ban, so do be aware.
How can I form a Guild?
- In order to create a Guild of your own there are a number of requirements that need to be met; a number of 'followers', a predetermined area of land to start off in, territories and other things. See 'Guild Guide' for more information.
What happens if the territory we want is already taken by another Guild or a family unit.
- As mentioned above, if a family unit occupies the territory that a Guild wishes to claim they can Fight for it, join the guild or leave. As for another guild that would end up being a fight, what's known as a 'Turf War'. These fights will be regulated threads and moderated by the staff.
